How can I see items I have pre-ordered?
You can check pre-orders you have made through the website or app by going to your accounts order history, at the top you should see all of your pre-ordered items with expected release dates, if you pre-ordered items through a GameStop location you can reach out to that location for more information about your pre-order.
Will I be charged for the item when I place the pre-order?
- For online pre-orders you may see an authorization at the time of placing the order but this is just us checking to make sure the payment is good, we will not charge for the item until 1 week before the items expected release date. Doing this a week before will give us enough time to ensure if there is an issue with your payment we can fix the error before the release of the item.
- For Store pre-orders you will need to put at least $5 down (for most games and collectibles) or $50 (for larger Items like systems or collectors editions), this however is just the minimum amount you need to put down to reserve the item you are welcome to pay the item off in full or put more money down until the item comes out. Once the item has been released you will need to pay the full amount and pick it up.
Can I split up my payment on a pre-order?
For online orders You cannot split up your payments outside of using PayPal Pay in 4. However we do not charge for a pre-order at the time when the order is placed, rather we will only charge once the item has shipped!
For Store pre-orders When placing pre-orders in-store you are more than welcome to place the minimum amount down and come in as often as you like to put more money down towards your pre-order. Keep in mind that multiple payment types can be used towards a pre-order including trade-in credit, so if you have any games or accessories you aren't using why not put them towards something you are looking forward to.
Can I use coupons towards a pre-order?
You can not use any type of coupon towards a pre-order.
When I pre-order in a GameStop store, what happens if I can't pick it up the day the item is released?
That okay! We understand life happens so when you place a pre-order you have 48 hours from the release of the item to pick up before it becomes available to other guests. Keep in mind your deposit will remain there, it will only be the copy of your game that will be made available for general sale!
Can I get my money back for a in Store pre-order?
Absolutely! You may receive the money back to the original form of payment or cash any time before 30 days after the release of the item, after the 30 days you can still get store credit for the amount you put down. So if you put $15 down towards Monster Hunter Wilds and would like to get your money back you will get $15 in cash or back to the original form of payment but 30 days after the release of the game you will receive $15 in store credit to be used in-store or online.

Sadly, this can happen as pre-order bonuses are while supplies last.
